Important milestone for TrapSaver™ – Patent Pending in Norway

We are proud to announce that TrapSaver™, our innovative bending system for preventing equipment loss, now has the status of patent pending in Norway. The Norwegian Patent Office received our application on February 14, 2025 and has assigned application number 20250176.

What does Patent Pending mean?

Patent pending status means that TrapSaver™ is now formally protected under the patent application process. This confirms that our solution represents a unique and innovative approach to a well-known problem in the fishing industry – gear loss and ghost fishing.

TrapSaver™ – Innovative technology for securing fishing equipment

TrapSaver™ is designed to solve one of the biggest challenges for both professional and recreational fishermen: the loss of fishing poles, nets and other fishing gear. When equipment is lost, it not only causes financial losses for the fisherman, but also contributes to ghost fishing – a serious environmental problem where lost gear continues to catch fish and shellfish without control.

Our patent-pending system combines robust construction with thoughtful design to ensure your equipment remains visible and traceable, even under demanding conditions in Norwegian waters.

The benefits of TrapSaver™

  • Reduced equipment loss: Effective labeling and visibility reduces the risk of equipment being lost or overlooked
  • Environmentally friendly: Helps combat ghost fishing and reduces marine litter
  • Financial savings: Less loss of expensive fishing equipment leads to better profitability
  • Norwegian-developed quality: Designed and tested for Norwegian conditions and requirements
  • Easy implementation: Compatible with existing equipment and working methods

The way forward

The patent application process is an important part of our commitment to continuous innovation and product development. We continue to work on improvements and further development of TrapSaver™system, while exploring opportunities for international patent protection.

TrapSaver™ is already in use by both professional and recreational fishermen along the Norwegian coast, and the feedback confirms that the system delivers on its promises of increased safety and reduced equipment loss.

About patent protection

Patent protection ensures that our investment in research, development and testing is protected, while giving our customers peace of mind that they are investing in a unique and quality-assured product. It also confirms that TrapSaver™ represents a real innovation in the maritime security and equipment management market.

We thank all our customers and partners for their support, and look forward to continuing to deliver innovative solutions for safer and more sustainable fishing.
