NorTrap's flagship product, TrapSaver™, is designed to prevent the loss of fishing gear, often referred to as "ghost gear." By reducing such losses, TrapSaver™ helps to avoid economic losses for fishermen and minimize ghost fishing, which has a negative impact on marine biomass and future income. The system is compatible with various types of fishing gear without the need for modifications, making it a practical solution for both commercial and recreational fishermen.

About Me

My name is Dag Frode Aasnes and I am the inventor of NorTrap As's TrapSaver™ and PopUpBuoy™ products. My passion lies in developing innovative marine solutions to combat the growing problem of ghost fishing and lost fishing gear.

My primary mission is to protect the environment by introducing practical and innovative solutions that reduce ghost gear and abandoned fishing equipment, which pose a serious threat to marine life – including fish, crabs, and lobsters in coastal waters around the world.

Beyond the environmental impact, I am dedicated to helping both professional and recreational fishermen minimize financial losses by providing reliable and cost-effective systems for gear recovery. Fishing gear represents a significant investment, and my goal is to ensure that each product offers a smart, sustainable, and affordable solution while delivering a strong return on investment.
